Review of Korean MIRI photo editing app + Birthday sheep muffin

Hi everyone,
Sorry for not updating for the longest time.. haha. I have been super busy with a bunch of things. Hopefully things will slow down a bit after my exam in June and I can update more often.
Today I am going to share with you this amazing iphone photo editing app I recently discovered. This app is designed by the korean company MIRI D.I.H Inc. and you can get it here

It is free and has a super cute interface. You can style your pictures by adding different frames, stickers and messages to them. Below are some examples:

If you like decorating and adding cutesy things to your pictures, I would recommend to give this app a try. Here are some pictures I made using this app.

Hope you will have fun with this app!
Until next time,
Popes :D

P.S: Thank you Ninja and Kitty for the Sheep Muffin!! Haha You can probably tell I am loving it! *^___^*

My All-Time Favourite Skincare Products

Hello Beautiful!

Today I am going to share with you some of my all-time favourite skincare products. All of these products are rather inexpensive, but they together made a huge difference in the way my skin looks. Before I start reviewing these products, I would like to tell you a little bit about my skin. I have dry, sensitive and acne-prone skin, which is dry around the cheek areas and oily around the T-zone. I used to constantly get 3-4 new pimples every week and that was pretty frustrating to me.
Recently, using this new skincare routine I developed for myself, I have noticeable improvement in both my skin tone and skin texture. I have been getting less breakouts and my skin has somehow become less sensitive.
One thing I learned is that it's best to keep things simple and gentle when you have sensitive, acne-prone skin. The following are some of the products that I would recommend for people with similar skin as I do:

1) Spectro Derm Cleanser for Dry Skin

I have tried many high/low end cleansers in the market, but I always come back to this. It is a gentle oil-free gel cleanser suitable for everyday use. It always leaves my skin feeling fresh, supple and clean after cleansing.

Pros:
  • Gentle, does not leave skin tight or dry
  • Effective for basic face cleansing
  • Very affordable

Cons:
  • Does not remove makeup, so an extra makeup-removing step is required prior to using this
  • Not the most attractive packaging

2) Rosette Hello Kitty Apple Gommage Massage Peeling Gel

I love this peeling gel. I totally prefer this to the traditional exfoliators because it is so gentle on the skin and so simple to use. The Hello Kitty on it also makes me smile every time I pick it up! :D To use, I take a small amount of the peeling gel, massage it over my face for 1 minute, and then rinse with water. I find it is most effective at removing dead skin cells without drying the skin when used 2 times a week.

Pros:
  • Awesome Packaging
  • Gentle, non-abrasive exfoliator
  • Effective and non drying when used 2 times a week
  • Inexpensive

Cons:
  • Not easy to find in stores (I usually purchase it from the local Asian cosmetic stores)

 3) Jamieson Provitamin A Night Renewal Cream

I think this is a great moisturizers for people with dry sensitive skin like me. Although it is not an oil-free product, it does not break me out. In fact, it seems to help speed up the healing process of my breakouts and promotes an even skin tone. I like using it both during the day and at night time.

Pros:
  • Moisturizing without being greasy
  • Helps with acne and skin sensitivity
  • Does not break me out
  • Very affordable

Cons:
  • None! :D

4) Neostrata Smoothing Cream Level 2

This is a very good daytime moisturizer with exfoliating properties. It contains 8% AHA glycolic acids, which helps to clear up acne and remove dead skin cells. It is also oil-free, which works well with my oil-free makeup.

Pros:
  • Suitable for all skin types
  • Moisturizing and does not break up out
  • Help clear acne and improve skin tone
  • Oil-free
Cons:
  • On the more expensive side

That's all for now~ Hope it helps!

Welcome!

Hi there! Welcome to Bloom with Beauty! *waves*

I’m Popes, the blogger behind Bloom with Beauty. As the title may suggest, this is a blog featuring makeup, skincare, fashion, lifestyle and other lovely things in beauty.
I believe true beauty is an attitude that comes from within. It is the way we enjoy seeing the best in everything and the best in everyone because that’s what make us happy. It's like appreciating a glimmering sunny day and making the most out of it! :) Although I think nothing can beat natural beauty, I love learning about makeup, skincare and fashion, as I think it is a way to show that I appreciate and enjoy taking care of myself.
I remember in the old days when I was a student, one of my favorite hobbies was surfing beauty/fashion blogs. I found it fascinating how a few clothes, a little makeup and a new hairstyle can transform girls into beautiful princesses like those described in the storybooks. I enjoy the tutorials from a number of beauty gurus, such as bubzbeauty, cl2425 and frmheadtotoe, as they are not only very genuine, but also truly beautiful inside out.
Little by little as I follow these beauty bloggers, I begin to experiment with makeup and learn what works for my face and skin. Today, makeup has become a part of my life that I can’t live without. Although I don’t exactly use makeup on a daily basis, playing with my makeup always has a calming effect on me, putting me to a happy, relaxed mood instantly. I wish that through this blog, I can share with you my interest in beauty and get inspiration from like-minded beauty fans.

Let’s start blooming with beauty,
Popes :D
